If you place a link in a LinkedIn post, your post probably won`t be seen by most of your connections and followers. It really depends on the popularity of the message. Even for something that`s moderately popular – say, there are 20 unique commenters – it`s easy for the link-bearing comment to get lost in the undergrowth. Under Advanced settings, you can now share and change the setting to allow comments on your post. A nice feature for updating company pages is the ability to @ mention company pages, people, and other organizations. If you do, the @mention in the post will link to the profile of the person you are appointing. You can also mention @ other organizations. Using @ for a business page can help you gain followers on the business page because more people have the opportunity to see and click on the link to the business page. Instead of searching for an article on the company page in your feed, it`s probably easier to ask your team to go directly to the company page to amplify updates to your company page. It doesn`t – it just appears on your business page.
This is what happens when your posts contain an external link: LinkedIn will not want to promote this type of content. Instead of trying to share the post from your company`s page, once you`ve created your company`s publication, go to your own timeline to see your company`s publication. If it`s not present (because LinkedIn displays “Top Updates” by default), click on the three dots under the “Post article” link and select “Latest updates”. The problem with posting the link in comments is that LinkedIn`s default algorithmic sorting means that the comment containing the link can end up as the 7th, 42nd, or 253rd item on the list. The write-post-edit method described below allows you to work around this problem by placing the link in a more prominent place while avoiding the algorithmic penalty associated with link sharing. Admins can like, share and comment directly from the Business Page feed. This is a change from the previous configuration, where an administrator performing an action on the enterprise side acted as a company. It even seems that links to your own LinkedIn articles are treated as if they were external links.
(It doesn`t make sense, but it`s LinkedIn for you.) When I ask my internal team to promote updates, I send them links directly to the company page. To make things easier, I even pin the update I transfer to the top of the page. You can now only do this in the admin center: Here`s the best way to share links in LinkedIn posts without sacrificing the reach of your posts: LinkedIn changed its algorithm between May and June 2020. My tests and comments from others strongly suggest that links in posts are NOT penalized currently. If you go back and look at the post a few minutes later, you`ll notice that the link has been shortened to use LinkedIn`s short URL format, lnkd.in. Now that I know that normal link sharing doesn`t work, I don`t schedule link posts anymore. In fact, I don`t plan anything anymore. If two LinkedIn users, each with 250 connections, find the update and like and/or share the content, you`ve now increased your potential reach tenfold. This means more potential impressions of your post and more clicks to view your content. Most importantly, posts on your business page are not liked and/or shared, the only potential audience for your updates is your followers on the company page.
To create posts from the Public Enterprise View page, admins must access the “Admin Center” from the sidebar where your company is listed. Simply click on your company name and you will be directed there. Instead, I publish manually and follow the write-post-edit method to share my external content. This will display all posts on LinkedIn in chronological order. You should now see the message from your business page, with a “share” option, so you can share your own business post with your own personal connections. Even if link posts are not penalized at this time, the change may not be permanent. Anyway, the method presented in the rest of this article should still work. To show that this is from a specific business page, you need to @mention the company page. If you`re still following your page, the rest of this article provides helpful tips for growing your business page content via personal updates from LinkedIn. After editing your post to add the external link, the link will appear in the saved version exactly as you added it. Big. You will notice that when you add links using the Write-Post-Edit method, the result does not contain a preview image.
A properly constructed LinkedIn company page is different from a personal profile. While you may see people setting up their business pages as profiles, it`s not the ideal setup. Unlike a profile, a Business Page can`t send sign-in requests, join groups or post updates, or comment on other people`s posts. Once you have finished your copy and added your link, you can go ahead and click on the “Publish” button. If you haven`t attached an image, your message will look like the example below (note that Brian is now mentioned in the message). Company Page admins have access to an interface where they can make updates, edit the company page, view business page analytics, and view notifications on company pages. We use TSL Marketing`s own LinkedIn company page in the following examples. You can then write your contribution in the box directly below your company logo. You can also edit the rendered image. If an image is not rendered, you can use the camera icon to select a new one. You can also add a video or file to your post. The simplest form of sharing occurs when the page you want to share has social media sharing buttons.
Sharing is easy when a LinkedIn share button is present. Just follow these steps: A common option (but not the one I recommend) is to place the link in a comment rather than in the main post. If you post a link to your LinkedIn company page, you can post an update to all followers on your page. Page admins can do this through the “admin center” on the company Page.
