Nib Legal Counsel

Roslyn brings nearly 20 years of legal and risk expertise to nib`s Board of Directors. Mr. Cantell succeeds Siv Hellén, who has served as General Counsel of the Bank since 1982. Ms. Hellén announced earlier this year that she was seeking partial retirement. She will continue to serve as Special Advisor to the President and will strengthen and be responsible for the Bank`s new compliance function. Mr. Mikrut has extensive experience in government and government procurement, state and federal regulation, and dispute resolution. He began his legal career as a litigator at Foley & Lardner LLP in Chicago, Illinois, and then served as deputy general counsel in the office of Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and general counsel in the Illinois Department of Central Management Services. She is currently Group Executive Legal and Chief Risk Officer of nib and responsible for nib group`s legal, risk, compliance and governance activities in Australia and its global operations. She is also General Counsel and Company Secretary of Nib Holdings Limited. Heikki Cantell (born 1959 in Helsinki, Finland) is General Counsel, Head of the Legal Department and Secretary General of the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB).

Prior to his current position as General Counsel at NIB (2007-), he was General Counsel at the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) from 1995 to 2007 and before that Head of the Paris Office of Heikki Haapaniemi Law Offices and Legal Counsel of the Finnish Cultural Foundation. He was appointed arbitrator by the ICC. Heikki Cantell holds an L.L.M. (Master of Law) from the University of Helsinki and a DEA in Commercial Law from the University of Paris II. He completed Harvard Business School`s Advanced Management Program 192. Tom Mikrut joined NIB in April 2018 as Deputy General Counsel and assumed the role of NIB`s General Counsel in August 2019. In this role, Mr. Mikrut oversees NIB`s legal department and is responsible for developing and implementing the organization`s legal strategy. Ros has also served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of a domestic construction company and has worked in private practice for over 12 years for a number of leading Australian law firms. Mr Eibeholm succeeds Torben Nielsen, who joined Barclays Wealth in London as Managing Director earlier this year.

Mr. Lars Eibeholm (DK) has been appointed Vice President, Chief Treasury Officer and Chief Financial Officer of NIB and will take up his duties on 1 December 2007. He will head the bank`s treasury department, which is responsible for refinancing, portfolio management and asset and liability management. He joins NIB from Nykredit Bank A/S Copenhagen, where he is currently responsible for treasury and financial and institutional clients, responsible for financing, asset and liability management and relationship banking. Prior to joining Nykredit Bank A/S in 1995, Mr. Eibeholm also worked for Nykredit A/S and GiroBank A/S. Mr. Mikrut received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Illinois, where he also received his Juris Doctor summa laude from the University School of Law. He also holds an MBA from the Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. In the community, Mr. Mikrut has served on the boards of the Legal Council for Health Justice of Chicago and the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago.

Ros joined nib in 2011 as General Counsel and was promoted to the Group`s management team in 2017. She is responsible for leading legal, risk, compliance, governance, community and sustainability within the nib Group. Ros is also Managing Secretary of Nib Holdings Limited. Mr Heikki Cantell (FI) has been appointed General Counsel and Head of the new Legal Department. He will join NIB in November. Mr. Cantell comes from the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) in Paris, where he has been Legal and Legal Director since 1995. From 1998 to 2001, he was Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services, among other responsibilities. Prior to joining CEB, Mr. Cantell has worked as legal counsel for the Finnish Cultural Foundation and as a lawyer in Helsinki and Paris. Ros is also nib`s sustainability leader and is committed to promoting a healthy future for nib`s customers, employees, shareholders and communities in which we operate in order to advance nib`s mission and vision of healthier people.
