A network of charities across the UK providing free and confidential information and advice on financial, legal, housing, social, health, immigration, consumer and other matters. We still need volunteers to help us manage the legal aid service at our offices at 156 Hoxton Street, N1 6SH. They are an integral part of what we do, and we provide the training and support you need to provide the best service to the people we help. The pop-up advice shop also offers free legal advice to help Hackney residents with consumer and debt issues. The Hackney Community Law Centre is a charity that employs lawyers and paralegals to provide free, independent legal advice and representation to people who live, work or study in the London Borough of Hackney. Provides free legal advice, legal assistance for housing and social benefits. Support focuses on filling out forms, not legal advice, which provides free legal advice. They specialise in debt, employment, housing, asylum, nationality, immigration and social security law. We have been providing free legal advice since 1993.

You can rest assured that the quality controls of the Hackney Community Law Centre ensure that the legal work and representation offered is in the best interests of our clients and that the quality of advice is of a high standard. We offer free legal advice on a wide range of topics, including wellness, benefits, housing, employment, consumers and education. We can also help you with debt, but we are not debt advisors. We do not give advice on immigration issues, but we can refer you to organizations that do. The Supervising Solicitor is regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and the Hackney Community Law Centre is a member of the Law Centres Federation. Another way to access our free service is to use a few GP practices in the London Borough of Hackney, in partnership we have with the Council, East End Citizens Advice and other advisory bodies. These are usually held on Tuesdays at the Dalston CLR James Library.

We are particularly focused on helping the most vulnerable and needy people living or working in Hackney, as determined by the postal codes N1, N4, N16, E2, E5, E8, E9 and EC1. If you live or work elsewhere, we can only see you if our trapping load allows, but we will let you know to help you who is closest to you.
