Gun Range Rules for Minors

To rent a lane at one of our shooting ranges for an hourly rate (see range rates here), present a valid government-issued photo ID and confirm by signing that you understand our safety zone rules (see full range rules here). To enter the range, you need eye and hearing protection and targets, which we offer for sale. You may choose to rent a firearm from us, in which case use the ammunition purchased by Stoddard. FIRERS who wish to “shoot” must be “qualified by Texas Legends instructors”, must inform the range personnel, and may only exit the holster at approved times/designated locations on the shooting range. The Code and Rules were established to promote the safety and comfort of all users and employees and to prevent property damage. Negligent or irresponsible behavior or intentional violation will result in the IMMEDIATE removal of INFRINGER from the assortment and other possible sanctions up to and including permanent ban or loss of membership. Q: I have never been to a shooting range or tour from out of town, what should I bring and what do I need to know? All persons between the ages of 8 and 18 must be accompanied by an adult and a waiver of liability signed by the shooter`s parent or guardian. All children between the ages of 8 and 18 must be accompanied and supervised directly by a parent or guardian in the firing range. Q: What if I already own a firearm and just want to use the range? When “CEASEFIRE” is called, STOP firing immediately, remove the detachable magazine or open revolver cylinder, turn off the weapon, lock the bolt/push backwards, place the firearm on the firing line bench with the ejection hole or cylinder facing upwards, and move BEHIND THE RED SAFETY LINE. External targets must be explicitly approved by Texas Legends; All targets must be properly placed on the correct target carrier in front of the FIR. Children must be at least 10 years of age, able to shoot safely at the sole discretion of Texas Legends personnel, accompanied by a parent/guardian authorized to sign the waiver of liability/assumption of risk, and who will supervise the child directly on the shooting range at all times. FIRERS must stand in an assigned stable behind the firing line bench and shoot ONLY at the correct target assigned in that lane. It is the sole responsibility of the FIREFIGHTER to understand the SAFE OPERATION of his firearm and to ensure that his firearm is in good condition.
